‘ILLUMINATUS- Radiance of Knowledge’
The aim of mankind has always been to transcend the boundaries drawn by the steeds of time. And it has been successful in doing so. Where were we a thousand years ago, or even a hundred years ago? Questions that once belonged to Philosophy have become a part of Science. We have moved far beyond the exploration of our own skies, into the vastness of outer space, exploring the deepest secrets of the Universe. This instinct to invent, to question, to discover has always given us hope that the emancipation of humanity is within our reach, we will reach the stage of Singularity, the consciousness of Nirvana. Time and again we lose this hope, this instinct when we see the many problems that plagues our society. Should not we strive to become the master of our problems and slay them with the blade of our intellect, should not we follow in the footsteps of our pioneers.
‘ILLUMINATUS’ an undergraduate research Journal for the Department of Economics is a humble step in this very direction. This initiative marks a departure from the legacy of just bookish knowledge which continues to shape our system and causes a gap between theory and practice. ‘ILLUMINATUS- Radiance of Knowledge’ is a peer reviewed annual journal of the department covering wide spectrum of research areas in the field of Economics and Political Science. The journal aims to disseminate knowledge; provide a learned reference in the field and establish channels of communication between academic experts and young researchers. The journal is a celebration of intellect that upholds coherent expression of thoughts and opinions based on extensive study from different sources. By implementing a strong check on the quality measures, ILLUMINATUS equips students with exceptional skills and experience which further aids in providing a fruitful outcome in the later stages of their academic endeavors. All peer reviewed papers meet rigorous standards and represent a broad range of significant topics, theoretical orientations and empirical methods. With the aim of promoting multidisciplinary research, ILLUMINATUS cordially welcomes research papers from all the diverse departments of the college and from other institutes as well.
