GUIDELINES FOR SCHOLARSHIP 2020-2021

Deserving (need-cum-merit based) students will be considered for scholarship. To avail scholarship, the parents, after getting their wards admitted in the college, have to submit an application along with necessary documents addressing the manager. Students of every department and every batch are entitled to apply for meritorious scholarship. The eligibility for merit based scholarship will be a cut off mark of the academic performance in the previous (semesters’) year’s qualifying exam, as mentioned below. In case, there is no student securing marks higher than the cut off decided for the particular course, management can decide upon changing the minimum threshold limit for that course. For senior students, the minimum requirement of attendance (75%) in the previous year is mandatory to apply and avail the scholarship. For first year students, if they don’t maintain 75 per cent attendance during the year, they will not be qualified for reduction in the second instalment fees as scholarship amount. Only those who qualify it will be entertained. Only the top scored students from each batch of every department will be selected to be conferred on with scholarship. The maximum number of students from each class varies as mentioned in the table below. They will be given 70%, 60%, 50%, 40%, and 30%, reduction in the college fees alone, respectively. However, they will have to pay the other type of fees, like development fee and other onetime fee etc., mentioned in the fee structure of college admission prospectus. The complete college fees of the topper in the University Rank list, if she/he is of our college, will be waved off. In such an instance there will be no one eligible for top scored scholarship of that particular class.

Whereas, need based scholarship is open to anyone who is in need of economic assistance. The scholarship amount will be a reduced percentage of the college fees alone of the academic year. The Scholarship amount will be decided every year by the college management based on the scrutinization and suggestions of the Scholarship committee. Those who apply for scholarships shall make sure that they are not receiving any other scholarship, either institutional or governmental. They are supposed to give an undertaking in this regard.

The institutional scholarship will be finalized before the due date of second instalment fees (October). In case student is not selected for institutional scholarship, they can apply for government scholarships through the National Scholarship Portal.

St Xavier's College, Jaipur offers Institutional as well as Government Scholarships for students of all disciplines. Eligible students can avail both Central & State Governments’ Scholarships through the College portal. The Institutional Scholarships are given on the grounds of compassion to those students with a good academic performance and conduct along with the needed attendance (More than 75%). Students who clear Xavier’s Talent Search Examination will also be considered for Scholarships.
